Comparison

Laranode vs CyberPanel

Both are self-hosted control panels with free, open-source options. CyberPanel is a broad hosting stack built around OpenLiteSpeed, email, DNS, WordPress and Docker. Laranode is a smaller Ubuntu-first panel focused on websites, PHP, SSL, databases, firewall rules and backups.

The deciding factor: focused websites or a complete hosting stack

CyberPanel bundles services that many traditional hosting servers need: mail, DNS, FTP, WordPress tooling and OpenLiteSpeed. If you want one panel to own all of those services, CyberPanel has the broader feature set.

Laranode is for a different setup. It assumes email and DNS are already handled by dedicated providers and concentrates on websites, databases, SSL, server access, firewall rules, monitoring and backups. That narrower surface is useful when you value understandable infrastructure more than an all-in-one stack.

Moving from CyberPanel to Laranode

There is no automatic importer. Re-create each account and site, transfer files with SFTP, export and import MySQL databases, and move mailboxes before changing DNS. OpenLiteSpeed-specific rewrite or cache configuration must be translated for Apache.

Frequently asked questions

Is Laranode a CyberPanel alternative?
Yes, for users who need website, PHP, SSL, database, firewall and backup management on Ubuntu. CyberPanel is the stronger fit when you also need email, DNS, FTP, WordPress tooling or OpenLiteSpeed.
Are Laranode and CyberPanel free?
Laranode is free under the MIT licence. CyberPanel has a free open-source core; CyberPanel also sells optional premium add-ons.
Does Laranode use OpenLiteSpeed?
No. Laranode uses Apache with separate PHP-FPM pools. CyberPanel is built around OpenLiteSpeed, with a separate LiteSpeed Enterprise option.
Does Laranode include email hosting?
No. CyberPanel includes mail-server features; Laranode expects you to use an external mail provider.
Which panel is simpler?
Laranode has a narrower scope and fewer moving parts. CyberPanel covers more hosting services, so it is more capable but also a larger stack to operate.
